Why aren't my .shtml files parsing my SSI directives?

This is a problem FrontPage users often have. FrontPage creates a .htaccess file that has "Options None" which essentially disables SSI. You need to edit your .htaccess file to say "Options Includes" and they should work. However, doing certain things in FrontPage may overwrite this option in the future.
